Here are the Indians' starting pitchers' lines for the three "games" recently completed at Progressive Field against the Texas Rangers:
Carrasco: 5 IP, 5 ER, 8 H, 3 BB
Laffey: 3 1/3 IP, 6 ER, 12 H, 1 BB
Carmona: 2/3 IP, 5 ER, 6 H, 1 BB
Look at how much efficienter our starters got as the series went on! It was like a game of Name That Tune; I can give up 5+ earned runs in...3 1/3 innings! I can do it in just 2/3 inning!
Our hitters pulled a similar trick, becoming increasingly efficient at recording outs as the series went along:
Game 1:9 runs on 16 hits
Game 2:5 runs on 7 hits
Game 3:0 runs on 6 hits
Now that's making some outs!
Also: we got swept. Giving up 11, 10, and 10 runs is no kinda way to win three games. Hopefully we can hold the Royals to <10 once or twice this weekend.
