Indians Break, Go America!

Instead of my rambling on about the Indians season so far and their most recent disastrous series I want to wish you a happy 4th of July.

U-S-A! U-S-A! U-S-A!

As a small tidbit to tide you over, Mr. Sizemore now leads the league in HRs and is having a hell of a season. His absence from the All-Star Game will only be warranted because they weigh stupid fans' entries equally. I would hope the only 20/20 guy in the majors so far this year, hitting on this kind of team, would be recognized.

Go Tribe!

justifying putting grady sizemore on the american league all-star team simply because he is leading the league in home runs on a last place team is so much like putting lipstick on a pig, don't you think??? that being said, terry francona will almost assuredly pick grady to be one of the reserves based on reputation alone. after all, he is the reigning gold glove recipient in center field. cliff lee should get the nod as well after posting an 11-1 record on this sad-sack of a team that has given him 4 no-decisions in games in which he has given up 1, 0, 2 & 1 runs. after that, no other indians are even remotely considerate of an all-star berth. i still think that there should also be an all-bum game and make those players who have underperformed play in a meaningless game as punishment for their "bumness". just like there will be 6 or 7 red sox and yankees on the all-star team, there would be 6 or 7 indians players on the all-bum team. also, just like the all-star managers are the managers of the 2 world series teams from a year ago, the managers of the all-bum game should be the two losing managers from the 2 championship games, in this case, eric "the genius" wedge would go against the d-backs bob melvin. the trick is that the opposite manager gets to pick all of the players on the respective teams and the idea is to actually lose the game and so whoever loses the game, actually wins, get it???

Fan balloting is flat-out stupid. I've called for it to be ended and will continue to do so.

No, I do not. He's one of the league's best players and deserves to be honored as such.

Agreed that he and the Phifer are the only two Tribesmen deserving of a spot.

Dave I appreciate the comment as misguided as it may seem. Well is actually.

Grady's line among AL leaders is 1st in HR (21), 3rd in TB (174), T4th in BB (49), T7th in RS (55), 8th in SB (20) & 7th in slugging % (.534)…He is the only 20HR/20SB player in the AL to date.

If that is the playings of a "pig" then I wish we had a whole team of pigs.

And use the shift key for god sakes. I know you can. You used it to put in six question marks and two quotes, is a couple of capitalizations going to kill you???
